Dani is a director|cinematographer with over 15 feature films of experience in 3 continents.

 

Fluent in 4 languages, Dani believes the most universal is visual language.

 

With laurels for his cinematography from the European Cinematography Awards, HatchFest, New York Cinematography Awards, Goldeneye, Asian Cinematography Awards, and Los Angeles Film Festival Awards, as well as 3 Indian National Academy Awards, Dani lends his eye to films that aim to push for a version of reality in which we can understand the other. Diversity, Equality, Human Rights are at the core of his numerous fiction and non-fiction features. His most renowned works could be "Mahanati", "Días de Agosto", "Kaantha", "Operation Barrio Inglés" or "Virataparvam".

He also works as Director/DOP for commercials and music videos. His clients include T-Series, Samsung, Estrella Galicia, Times of India, Robe or Yash Raj Films.

"@buddhistandqueer: The Path from Sarees to Robes", marks his documentary directorial debut. And its earned him over 10 Awards, like the Best Short Documentary at LesGaiCineMad and Mecal, in its 50+ festival run around the world. Dani has a fiction film in development.

Dani studied the MFA in Cinematography at Chapman University, ranked in the top 5 in the world. His studies in Film and Visual arts expand to Cornell University, from the UK and Spain thanks to scholarships like La Caixa Fellowship. He enjoys sharing what he knows in workshops for institutions like FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), Chapman University, University of California Irvine, or NYFA in the USA, Sanjan Institute in Lahore, or UNIA and UCA in Spain.

Dani also exhibits his work in the museum space, with series like #rituals, River of Ashes, Transmission or Projections.

Dani es director|director de fotografía con más de 15 largometrajes de experiencia en 3 continentes.

 

Habla cuatro idiomas, pero Dani cree en el lenguaje visual como el más universal.

 

Con reconocimientos por su trabajo como director de fotografía en los European Cinematography Awards, HatchFest, New York Cinematography Awards, Goldeneye, Asian Cinematography Awards y Los Angeles Film Festival Awards, así como con tres premios de la Indian National Academy Awards, Dani pone su mirada al servicio de películas que buscan impulsar una versión de la realidad en la que podamos comprender al otro. La diversidad, la igualdad y los derechos humanos están en el núcleo de sus numerosos trabajos de ficción y no ficción.

 

Entre sus obras más reconocidas se encuentran Mahanati, Días de Agosto ,  Kaantha,  Operation Barrio Inglés o Virataparvam.

@buddhistandqueer: Del Sari Al Hábito marca su debut como director documental y le ha valido más de 10 premios, como el de Mejor Cortometraje Documental en LesGaiCineMad y Mecal, en un recorrido por más de 50 festivales alrededor del mundo. Actualmente, Dani tiene en desarrollo un largometraje de ficción.

Dani cursó un MFA en Cinematografía en la Chapman University, categorizada entre las cinco mejores del mundo. Su formación en cine y artes visuales se extiende a Cornell University, así como al Reino Unido y España, gracias a becas como la de la Fundación “la Caixa”. Disfruta compartiendo sus conocimientos en talleres para instituciones como el FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), Chapman University, University of California Irvine o NYFA en Estados Unidos, el Sanjan Institute en Lahore, o la UNIA y la UCA en España.
